Antelope Valley Transit Authority has been closely monitoring the situation and news coverage and have made the decision to resume commuter service on June 02, 2020.

AVTA Cancels All Commuter Services to L.A., Century City, and San Fernando Valley
The leadership at Antelope Valley Transit Authority has been closely monitoring the situations and news coverage regarding protests, riots, and reports of violence in Los Angeles County. Both state and Los Angeles government officials are concerned about dangerous incidents and have taken steps to limit activities.
AVTA, after viewing extensive reports throughout the day and given the continued unrest, has made the decision to take steps to protect the safety of our operators and passengers. AVTA will be cancelling all commuter services to L.A., Century City, and San Fernando Valley. This includes routes 785, 786, and 787.
L.A. County Sheriffs and LAPD have been placed on tactical alert through tomorrow afternoon. There is no guarantee that AVTA would be able to bring commuters home tomorrow afternoon and evening if morning services were provided. AVTA does not want to leave any riders stranded.
The safety of our passengers and our operators is our top priority. AVTA leadership will continue to monitor the situation to evaluate when service may resume.

AVTA provides local, commuter and dial-a-ride service to a population of more than 450,000 residents in the cities of Lancaster and Palmdale as well as the unincorporated portions of northern Los Angeles County. Its total service area covers 1,200 square miles and it is bounded by the Kern County line to the north, the San Bernardino County line to the east, the Angeles National Forest to the south, and Interstate 5 to the West.
