Dial-A-Ride Service
AVTA’s Dial-A-Ride provides curb-to-curb, rideshare transportation service to help you get where you want to go, whether it’s a medical appointment, shopping, visiting friends, or attending a class. Dial-A-Ride is available to Antelope Valley residents who are qualified seniors, certified disabled, or reside in designated rural zones.
The eligibility application process is easy. Residents of the Antelope Valley who are at least 62 years of age, or who have a certified disability, are eligible for Dial-A-Ride. Also, all Rural Zone 1 and 2 (see map) residents that have no access to AVTA’s local transit service, are eligible with proof of address (no P.O boxes accepted). AVTA requires verification of residence, age, and/or proof of disability. Contact AVTA’s Customer Service Department for acceptable forms of verification. Application and registration for Dial-A-Ride must be done in person at AVTA.
Visiting non-residents with a certified disability may be eligible for temporary (21 days of service, based on eligibility) reciprocal paratransit service. Contact AVTA’s Customer Service Department for proof of eligibility requirements.
Dial-A-Ride service hours are weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturdays from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Sundays from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Reservations are highly recommended, and are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations may be made up to two days in advance and on the same day. Streets must be safe and drivable for service.
